Swimming Lessons

I signed the kids up for swim lesson's and Kason's class was the parent/tot class so I got to attend the class with him.  I was going every day but then last Friday Weston took his lunch break and came to the class with Kason.  They had lots of fun.  Kason is loving the water and does everything he is asked to do.  He can blow bubbles, do his ice cream scoops, jump from the side and he can almost climb out by his self.  I think he would have had it all mastered except he's been sick all this week and not able to go to class.  Poor kid.  And he was having so much fun!  Oh well, we'll just have to wait tell next year and I'm sure he'll do great again!

And here are some pictures of Makenna in her class.  I really don't like her teacher, she's actually really awful but oh well.  At least Makenna is in the water being supervised and hopefully learning something.  She is still pretty timid in the water and doesn't like to get her face wet but she is doing good.  I just hope she's learning enough for survival skills if she were ever in that situation.

Camping Trip 2012

I enjoy camping but we never really get to go very often.  In fact we're pretty lucky if we get to go once a year.  And last year we missed our camping trip because we spent about 5 weeks battling the flu.  That's right, between Makenna, Kason and I we had the flu pretty much the whole month of July and started into August.  Fun summer huh?  And not to mention that Weston never gets sick.  It's just not fair.  (OK, I'm done with my complaining)  So this year I was bound and determined to make sure that we were able to go on our camping trip this year.  I wouldn't even allow us to go to the cabin with the whole Southwick family because every time we go to the cabin we get the flu.  I'm not kidding either.  We ALWAYS get the flu.  I've decided it's simply not worth going for a weekend just to spend the next couple weeks cleaning up puke.  (sorry, I thought I was done complaining)  Back to our camping trip. 

Last weekend we went camping with all the Powells.  Yeah!!!  We just went up A.F canyon up to Granite Flats.  We went for just the weekend and it was so much fun!  We camped, roasted marshmallow's, played games, ate treats, road the Razor and I did my first Geo Cache!  It was so much fun!!!  And it was so nice having all of us there together.  Brynn and I were lucky enough to stay in my parents trailer while Weston and the kids slept in tents.  Everybody had so much fun and I'm glad we all got to go.  And guess what we got once we got home?  Yup, sick kids.  I guess we can't do anything or go anywhere with out getting a stomach bug.  I guess I'm just going to have to accept that and live with it.  I'm just glad we were able to go this year and we had so much fun!

Summer Days

I am torn.  I am loving our lazy summer days but I am getting excited for the fall and for it to cool down.  So minus the time that we have been sick, I have been trying to pack our weeks with fun summer activities.  Here are a few things we have been doing lately.

 Poor little girl just had to sit there while I tried to clean up the flower beds before our curbing was put in.  She was a good sport though!

Next up we have a camping trip, swim lessons, Aladdin at Tuachan and Wicked!  I am really looking forward to the rest of July, August and September!  I can't wait!

Hogle Zoo

Today we went to the zoo and it was so much fun! Hot but fun. It was Makenna's first time and she loved it. The Giraffe's and the Ducks were her favorite. She would point to them and make her little "eh, eh" noise. It was so cute. And Weston taught her how to growl like a bear or tiger and so she has been doing that all day. I just went in to check on her (she is supposed to be napping, but of course she isn't) and she growled at me. It was pretty cute. It was lots of fun. Hopefully we can do some more fun things this summer. It is crazy with Weston in school so we take every chance we can get to do some things as a family. But it sure is fun!
