Big Boy

So Weston and I were saying last night that we just haven't taken very many pictures of Kason. I actually haven't taken hardly any. I'm such a horrible mom! We have tons of pictures of Makenna. I guess that's how it gets with each child. We better not have a third kid or there will be no pictures to prove it! Anyways so last night Kason finally woke up for the day around 11:00. So we got some cute pictures of him holding his head up. He was sitting so tall. I can't believe it's been a month already. I think he's grown so much and it makes me happy and sad. It's fun to watch the new things he can do but it's so sad that he won't be my little baby for long. I've got to cherish it will I can.

Such a big boy! (and yes, he scratched his check the other day)

So any guesses on who he looks like?

"Nose" Man

Makenna's vocabulary seems to have tripled in the last month. She is talking so much and saying the cutest things. She is having a little trouble with her "sn" sound though. So instead of snowman it is nose man. And my favorite that she is always saying is "nose swhite" for Snow White. It is so cute! But on Saturday Weston went out and built Makenna a snow man. She has been sick for a week so we wouldn't let her go out and play, but we did let her go out and get her picture taken with him.

Blanket

My mom made Kason's bedding for his crib and I just have to brag about how cute it turned out. I have really been liking the jungle animals for him and his room was green and brown and we found some really cute material that matched. So my mom made the cutest jungle animals to quilt on his blanket and it turned out so cute! The monkey is my favorite!

Boys

When I found out I was pregnant with Kason I have to admit that I was really worried about him being a boy. I didn't know what to do with a boy. I had the girl thing down and all the cloths and fingernail polish and toys and hair bows. I just didn't think that I could do a boy. And I have to say that boys are completely opposite to girls in every way but I love it! So here are a few of the things that Kason has taught me in 3 short weeks.

-Never leave a diaper off him for more than three seconds. You gotta be fast to change his diaper.
-He never has a clean diaper on. If I change him, with in 5 minutes he will be messy again.
-We have gone through twice as many diapers as we did with Makenna.
-Boys stink. I don't know why but boys are stinkier than girls. We will have to practice manners and hygiene when he gets older!
-Boys need just as many clothes as girls if not more. Who knew! But he will go through 3 outfits in a day.
-He is definitely an easy going baby. He just goes with the flow. No high maintenance or moodiness here.
-Our laundry has tripled. I am always washing clothes and blankets.
-He has a cute little smile. I know, it's probably just gas but hey a smile is a smile no matter how it gets on his face.
-He actually likes to cuddle! I just hope this continues as he gets older because I really need a cuddler.
-Boy clothes are actually cute! They're not as easy to find as girl clothes but there are definitely some cute boy clothes out there.
-He is a great eater. I think he is just preparing me for the teenage years!
-He is just the cutest boy I have ever seen. (No, I'm not just being a biased mom, he really is just adorable!)
-And I just love this little guy so much! He is just the greatest kid ever and I'm so glad he is here with us now.

Christmas 2009

So I am finally getting around to posting some pictures of our Christmas. It was so much fun to watch Makenna this year. She really got into everything and was so much fun. She was so excited Christmas morning when she saw that "Santa ate his cookies all gone!" She was so cute. She was very afraid of Santa up close but she loved him in books and shows. Makenna definitely got spoiled this year. Although it has been really nice that she has so many new toys to play with. It is really keeping her busy so I can take care of Kason.

Weston made this adorable table for Makenna and it turned out so cute! We just bought the chairs from Ikea. It is just the cutest thing ever!

Santa brought Makenna a doll house for Christmas

Monkey's are Makenna's favorite!

Makenna loves Tinkerbell so we found her this cute blanket and she was so excited for it

Big Sister, Little Brother

I had gotten these really cute shirts for the two kids. Makenna's we had from when we told we were expecting and it says Big Sister on it. Then we found Kason one that said Little Brother. I thought they were so cute. I wanted to get a picture of the two of them together but that didn't work out so great so I took some of them individually too.

Details of Kason's Birth

So I wanted to write down all about Kason's delivery and since this is where I have been keeping all our memories and journaling I thought I would do it here.

It all started with the most miserable and uncomfortable Christmas ever. Well for me that is. But it was all worth it to see Makenna on Christmas morning. I had been terrified my whole pregnancy that Kason would come a week early and I would have a Christmas baby. Talk about ruining Christmas for the rest of our lives. But luckily he didn't come. So at 8:30 on Monday morning we got a call from the hospital to come in to be induced at 9:00. We had to hurry to make it there but we did. So they took us in and had us do paperwork and answer questions and then they started my pitocin around 10:30. Then my doctor came at 1:00 and broke my water. I wanted to wait to get my epidural but by 2:00 I couldn't take it any more. So I got that at two. My nurse was just the sweetest thing in the world. She then told me to call her when I was feeling pressure. Well by 3:00 I was feeling horrible. I didn't know that was pressure. But I called her and she didn't come so I gave myself an extra shot of my epidural. Well then I got really sick. Dizzy and nauseous. So I called her again and she came in and put me on oxygen and checked me. I was ready to have this baby. So she called my doctor and he was there with in a few minutes. I only had to push through 2 contractions and at 3:38 he was here. It was so fast I couldn't believe it. He had the cord around his neck but he was okay. Weston cut the cord and our nurse went to work on him.

So later we found out why it was so crazy around there. They had 3 babies born in 3 minutes. (Kason was number 2). And they had 4 babies in 10 minutes. It was very crazy needless to say.

So here were Kason's stats

Height - 19 inches

Weight - 8 lbs 9 oz

The first night we were in the hospital the nurses brought Kason into me so I could feed him. It was around 5 in the morning. Well he didn't want to eat so I put him in his bed and fell asleep for an hour or two. I tried feeding him again and he started spitting up all this liquid and then he swallowed it and started choking on it. I flipped him over and starting hitting his back to clear it out. All the while through this I was hitting the call button and yelling for my nurse. I'm sure I sounded like a crazy lady. But they came in and suctioned him out so he could breath and then checked him out. He did it once again while the nurses were in my room. So I was pretty much scared the rest of the day. And plus he didn't eat for 6 hours after that. But we were going to try and leave that day but decided to stay another night in case anything else happened. I was to scared to take him home.

When we were leaving the hospital the doctor said he hasn't seen anyone that had a jaundice level so low. So he was completely healthy and ready to come. He has all this cute dark hair. Most of it is in the back so I'm sure it will get rubbed off. Oh well though. I was just excited that he had hair. He has really long fingers and toes and we can't decide who he looks like. Some say Wes, I think he looks a little like Makenna. So I can't wait to see how his face changes.
