Our Big Helpers

Now that we're all feeling better we have let the kids hold Brynn.  And for some reason that opened a whole new world and they think they can help with everything.  I still get paranoid when they grab her Binky since I don't want germs on that but I am relaxing and letting them get blankets and burp rags and diapers.  Both Kason and Makenna sure do love their little sister and love to help out.  They are going to be great older siblings to Brynn.

Brynn's First Bath

So last Sunday we gave Brynn her first bath at home.  It's always so fun to see all the "firsts" that we get to do.  She cried and didn't like it but I think that's how most babies are.  Weston did Brynn's bath, I always get a little weirded out by the umbilical cord.  I can't wait for that to fall off.  But here are some pics!

Kason enjoyed watching Brynn's bath time.  Makenna on the other hand wouldn't come out of her room.  I think she had an adjustment period but she seems to be doing better.  Although I think she had a harder time bringing Brynn home than when we brought Kason home.  Who would've thought?

All nice and clean!  Thanks Dad!

Little Sister

Since both kids were sick we had to try and keep them away from Brynn.  But Kason was well enough that he got to come to the hospital and pick us up.  He loved the chair, and my food but was pretty shy of everything else.

Cheese!
Meeting Brynn for the first time.  He couldn't get too close!

Sleeping with Daddy!

Makenna got Brynn and I balloons and flowers.  She was so excited to give them to us once we got home from the hospital.  This was pretty much as close as we would let her get for the picture.  She was being a good sport about not being able to help out and see her.  We've let her get closer and see her but it's killing her that she hasn't got to hold her yet.  Hopefully by this weekend everyone will be fully recovered and fingers crossed that Brynn doesn't get it!

This is Kason saying "I'm not touching!"
These kids sure love their little sister.  I wonder how long it stays this way!?!

She's Here!!!!

She is actually, finally here!  I can't believe it!  I don't know why this pregnancy was so hard but it was really long and I was always sick!  Either sick or my body ached so bad I couldn't do anything.  It was horrible!  And the thing is, it wasn't morning sickness, it was just colds and flu's for 9 months straight.  It was awful!  But it was all worth it in the end.  Because on Thursday I got to be induced.

It must have been a very slow day because they had us there bright and early at 7 am.  I thought it would be a piece of cake and she would be here before noon but I didn't realize that I had to take antibiotics because I tested positive for the group b strep.  So once we got there, they got me all hooked up and started me on pitocin and the antibiotic.  Then just after 11:00 I was able to get my epidural and then they broke my water and turned up my pitocin.  From there on out it went pretty fast.  She was born at 2:19 pm and weighed 7 lbs 1 ounce and was 18 inches long.  This was by far my smallest baby.  When she came out I kept saying how small she was, I just couldn't believe it.  Makenna was 8 lbs 3 ounces and Kason was 8 lbs 9 ounces.

Her delivery went well.  She came really fast but I had to stop pushing a couple times because the cord was really tight around her and then her arm decided to come out first.  But it all turned out great and she is perfectly happy and healthy!  We didn't have a name for her when she was born and then we both decided that we really liked Brynn.  So we went with that for her first name and her middle name is Lizzie after my mom's grandma.  She loves sleeping through the day and the only way she will sleep at night is to be held.  I think I'm spoiling her.  Oh well, I'll give her a week and then try and get her schedule switched.

Kason, Makenna and I all got really sick a week before Brynn was coming so we've all been trying to recover from that.  Kason ended up with an ear infection.  So the kids didn't get to come to the hospital and see us which was pretty hard but we are all adjusting now and getting into a routine.  3 kids is definitely harder than 2!

Oh and here is a funny little story.  I was feeding Brynn the other day and apparently Makenna doesn't remember me feeding Kason.  So she asked what I was feeding her and I told her milk.  Well then I switched sides and Makenna asked what was in that side "Milk?"  I told her no it was Diet Coke.  So now that's our little joke.  Brynn gets milk and diet coke.  It was really funny.

 I'm here!!!
 7 lbs 1 ounce
Getting all checked out and her first bath in the nursery
 So precious!
The newest arrival to our family!
Brynn with her proud daddy!

Brynn's Crazy Birthday Party

Brynn had a really big celebration for her birth day.  Much more memorable that with my other two kids.  It all started when we checked in and our nurse and a student with her from BYU that was there learning for the day.  They were both really cute and fun to have as our nurses.  As we talked to our main nurse Pam, we realized that she was actually the same nurse that was there when we delivered Kason.  So that was fun and reassuring to know that she was a good nurse.

So our nurse Pam taught the BYU student all through out the day about the charts, my medicine, the catheter and all the procedures of everything.  It was fun because I got to hear a lot more than I have with other deliveries.  It kind of felt like I was a story line on Greys Anatomy being in a teaching school and everything.  It was fun.

So it finally came time to deliver Brynn.  They called Dr. Bean to come over and as they started to get ready the student came in and whispered something to our nurse.  She said "well you can ask her."  So she came over to me and asked if I would mind if another student came in to watch.  I thought sure might as well, since that's what they are studying and everything.  So she went out and brought in another BYU student with her.  Well then the baby nurse came in followed by a UVU student.  I couldn't believe they just kept coming!  So there I am sitting in the stir ups waiting for the doctor to show up.  Then my nurse Pam has a great idea to put on the party music.  So after a few minutes of messing with the computer they actually put on music playing Happy Birthday.  By then the doctor showed up and joined the party.  All we needed was a few balloons and some cake and it would have been a complete party!

So I hope Brynn enjoyed her first party since she was the star of the show!

Our New Car

Check out our sweet new ride!!!

I absolutely love it!!!!  It is a Nissan Armada and I have been wanting one for awhile now.  It is so big and nice inside and now we can all fit into one vehicle!  It will fit 8 so we have tons of room.  I have had my car for 10 years and I have never really cared for it.  So I am so excited about this one.  I was seriously stressing out so much because once the baby gets here next week we wouldn't all be able to fit into our car.  There was NO way of fitting 3 car seats in there.  But now I have tons of room and I'll even have enough room to car pool to school!  I was feeling so guilty every time I had to leave Kason at someones house so I could get the girls to school.  But now we all fit!  I just love the color of it and it is really nice inside.  It is older being a 2004 and it doesn't have all extras like a tv screen or heated seats or anything but I really don't care.  We watch enough tv at home that we don't need to watch it in the car.  Makenna was a little disappointed about that but she got over it.  Both kids like the new car too and are having way too much fun playing in it.  Anyways I was just really excited and I feel totally stress free now!  That's not going to last long though once the baby gets here next week.  Yeah, I can't wait to finally see her!!!  10 more days!
