Wow! It's been awhile since I've posted anything. I think the last 5-6 weeks have been too crazy for me to handle. But I was thinking today of somethings that I wanted to right down before I forget them.
First, Brynn got her first tooth this last weekend being 7 1/2 months old. It was just one of the bottom front ones. We were spending the weekend in Park City for my dads 60 birthday. Brynn has been such a great sleeper since she was 2 months old and the first night we were there she kept waking up crying which is so unlike her. And the next morning I realized that she had gotten her first tooth! Poor girl just didn't feel good. Then today (4 days later) she got her second tooth on the bottom. I got smart with this one and gave her some Tylenol. It's been a rough few days around her with lack of sleep between Brynn, Wes and I but hopefully she gets feeling better soon.
Now today Makenna had her first field trip at kindergarten! They went to Cornbelly's up at Thanksgiving Point and what do you think was her favorite part? Riding the bus! She has been wanting to ride a big yellow bus for as long as I can remember and the poor little girl has to walk or get a ride to and from school each day. But today she was able to go on her very first bus ride and she was ecstatic! I don't think she even slept last night because she was so excited! And apparently the ride lived up to her expectations because she said it was the best part of her field trip. I'm glad she could go and have so much fun.
And Kason. Not much is going on with him right now. He misses Makenna when she is gone to dance and school so I want to get him started in something at the Legacy Center in January. But he is just my favorite little guy in the whole wide world. He is so much fun right now even though he asks millions of questions, repeats everything Makenna says, never stops talking, and has even started throwing 2 year old tantrums. He is just so adorable and I just can't stand it! He totally makes me smile every day and I just love his big hugs.
Wow, they just grow up way to fast! I think if I could I would freeze time right now. All three kids are at such fun ages and I love it so much. I want them to stay little forever.

Girls Weekend!
This last weekend we had a girls weekend down in St. George and went to see Aladdin. It was me and Makenna, my mom and two sisters, my aunt, and my sister-in-law and her 2 girls. It was lots of fun and we got to do lots of stuff!
As soon as we got to St. George we unloaded the cars at my sister-in-laws family's condo and then we went and grabbed some dinner at Arby's. After we had eaten we went out to Tuachan to watch the show. It was so cute and Makenna really liked the Genie. She just kept saying he was so funny! I really like the magic carpet ride. It was cute. Once the show was over and we made it back to the condo it was midnight. Such a late night.
The next morning we went shopping at the outlets (the have a Gap!) then we had lunch. Then that afternoon we went swimming and to the movie the Odd Life of Timothy Green. For dinner we went to Makenna's favorite place ever. The Pizza Factory!!! It was so good and so much fun. After dinner Makenna painted our toe nails. It was so much fun.
Here are some pics of what we did
Well our girls weekend was a blast and it was sad that it had to come to an end. Hopefully we can do it again next year!

First Day of Kindergarten
It was a sad and exciting day when Makenna started kindergarten. She was so excited that she couldn't even stop smiling the night before as she laid in bed. It was actually quite funny. And then when she woke up the next morning and she was so ready to go. We live close enough to walk but I drove over since I needed to run some errands afterwards. So once we got there we walked back on the kindergarten side and she lined up against the wall with the other kids. She was all smiles from ear to ear! Then they all went inside with her teacher and off we went.
Now here's the sad part of the story. Kason really missed his older sister. He followed me everywhere! He was my little shadow and if he wasn't two steps behind me he was hanging on my leg or sitting on my lap. I enjoyed having him by me but it was sad that he missed Makenna so much. He just kept asking if we could go get her yet. So when it was finally time to go pick her up the first thing she said to me was I can't wait to go back tomorrow! And all I can say is she was even more excited to go back the second day! She didn't sleep at all that night and she woke up really early the next morning. When I went in to go get Brynn that next morning Makenna was already awake, which she never is, and guess where I found her? I found her in her closet, in the dark, trying to pick out a new outfit to wear!
I am so glad she is so excited to be going to school. I sure hope she enjoys it and learns a lot of new things. She really likes her teacher, Mrs. Mikuleky and I have been very impressed with her so far. She just seems great. Makenna also knows so many people in her class. Kids from the neighborhood, her pre-school class from last year and her dance classes. She is definitely a social butterfly!
My little girl is getting so big!
Her new backpack! Merida from Brave
Makenna and Kason!
This is over at the school and this is where she lines up before class each day

Dinosaur Museum
I love how Thanksgiving Point does $2 Tuesdays every August so two weeks ago I took the kids to the Dinosaur Museum. Kason has been asking to go forever so I thought he would enjoy it. And although it was crazy busy and packed with tons of kids you just can't beat the price. It is so expensive to pay full price so to go for $2 was definitely worth it. Here are some pics of the kids having so much fun!
Out front waiting to get in. The line really wasn't that bad at noon!
Seeing the dinosaurs!
Brynn hanging out in the stroller
They just loved this shark for some reason!
Just digging for dinosaur bones! Probably the best part of the day!

Swimming Lessons
I signed the kids up for swim lesson's and Kason's class was the parent/tot class so I got to attend the class with him. I was going every day but then last Friday Weston took his lunch break and came to the class with Kason. They had lots of fun. Kason is loving the water and does everything he is asked to do. He can blow bubbles, do his ice cream scoops, jump from the side and he can almost climb out by his self. I think he would have had it all mastered except he's been sick all this week and not able to go to class. Poor kid. And he was having so much fun! Oh well, we'll just have to wait tell next year and I'm sure he'll do great again!
And here are some pictures of Makenna in her class. I really don't like her teacher, she's actually really awful but oh well. At least Makenna is in the water being supervised and hopefully learning something. She is still pretty timid in the water and doesn't like to get her face wet but she is doing good. I just hope she's learning enough for survival skills if she were ever in that situation.

Foam Days!
Lehi had their annual Foam Days just before the 24th of July and we just could not miss it. I think Makenna talked about it all year long! She was so excited to go and we were so excited that Grandpa Southwick came and played with the kids. He announced the countdown to jump in and then he came and jumped right in with the kids and got covered! It was fun to watch and the kids really enjoyed it.
Foam!!!
Grandpa, Kason and Makenna
We remembered goggles this year! Although they don't help much when they are on top of the head!
Kason wasn't very sure of the foam but he still had lots of fun.
Grandpa got sprayed with the foam!
After the foam they went over to the firetrucks and they had a big hose sprinkling water down like a shower so you could clean off. Kason screamed and we all laughed!
So much fun at foam days. We can't wait tell next year!

Summer Days
I am torn. I am loving our lazy summer days but I am getting excited for the fall and for it to cool down. So minus the time that we have been sick, I have been trying to pack our weeks with fun summer activities. Here are a few things we have been doing lately.
Next up we have a camping trip, swim lessons, Aladdin at Tuachan and Wicked! I am really looking forward to the rest of July, August and September! I can't wait!
Brynn, just hanging out at the splash pad!
Kason and a friend enjoying a snack break at the splash pad
Kason loves to help out and he loves to play in the dirt. So weeding is the perfect activity for him!
Running through the sprinklers!
What a model. I don't even know where she learned this but we might be in trouble when she gets older!
Poor little girl just had to sit there while I tried to clean up the flower beds before our curbing was put in. She was a good sport though!

The Princess and the Dragon
I think we need to invest in some boy dress up clothes. Last week this is what the kids came down the stairs wearing. Kason's dragon outfit was his Halloween costume from when he was 1.
And then today Kason started wearing Makenna's dress ups. He was all decked out in a pink dress! I really need to get this boy some boy stuff to wear!

Makenna's Preschool Graduation
Our Graduate!
Yesterday was Makenna's preschool graduation. It was so exciting and a little sad all at the same time. I don't think I'm ready for her to start kindergarten next year but I am also so proud of her and all that she has learned this year. She has loved her preschool, The Busy Bees, and her teacher, Miss Mandy. She only had two melt downs afterwards when she realized that it was all over. She just kept crying and saying she wanted to see Miss Mandy. Pretty cute and funny all at the same time. For the last couple months all she's told me is how she doesn't want to go to preschool anymore she just wants to go to kindergarten. So hopefully she will still be excited in a couple months!
For their program they did a cute little thing with the Alphabet and Makenna's parts were for "K" and "V"
K is for Kitten to ready to eat
V is for Vacuum to clean up the crumbs
Then they sang some songs
and then Miss Mandy presented all of them with a little spotlight and gave them a diploma and a c.d. of all the songs they liked to sing at school.
It was a cute little program and thanks to both Grandma Powell and Grandma Southwick for coming and celebrating with us! Here is her whole class
Congratulations Makenna! You've learned and grown up so much! We love your!

Makenna's Birthday
Where did the last 5 years go? I can't believe she is so
old! I can't believe that I am so old to have a 5 year old! I don't think I'm
ready to have her going to school everyday either. This next year might be hard
for me and Kason. He loves his sister and loves to play with her so it might be
rough having her gone every day.So Friday was the party with friends and cousins and then Saturday (her birthday) she had to wait
all day long to open her presents. The dance recital was at 3 and she had
curlers in her hair all morning so I didn't want to celebrate and have pictures
with ugly curlers in her hair. But after the recital she picked to go the the
Pizza Factory for dinner where she devoured her "twisty breadstick!"
Then finally we made it home about 8:30 and she opened her presents. She was
very patient all day and she did awesome at her dance recital. We are so proud
of our little dancer!
This is Makenna with her pizza. I missed her eating her twisty breadstick because I was out in the car feeding Brynn. But she loved it and ended up eating the rest of Kasons!
And here is Kason with his pizza! He was having a pretty rough day. Not much sleep with the camp out the night before and then he got woken up from his nap early so we could make it to the dance recital.
For her birthday she got lots of Lalaloopsy's, pink cowgirl boots, a new sprinkler, a lite brite, a scooter and a soccer ball. Kason got her a set of Ariel Squinkies and Brynn got her some princess wall stickers. She definitely got spoiled with her birthday being stretched out into a 3 day event.
