Girls Weekend!

This last weekend we had a girls weekend down in St. George and went to see Aladdin.  It was me and Makenna, my mom and two sisters, my aunt, and my sister-in-law and her 2 girls.  It was lots of fun and we got to do lots of stuff!

As soon as we got to St. George we unloaded the cars at my sister-in-laws family's condo and then we went and grabbed some dinner at Arby's.  After we had eaten we went out to Tuachan to watch the show.  It was so cute and Makenna really liked the Genie.  She just kept saying he was so funny!  I really like the magic carpet ride.  It was cute.  Once the show was over and we made it back to the condo it was midnight.  Such a late night.

The next morning we went shopping at the outlets (the have a Gap!) then we had lunch.  Then that afternoon we went swimming and to the movie the Odd Life of Timothy Green.  For dinner we went to Makenna's favorite place ever.  The Pizza Factory!!!  It was so good and so much fun.  After dinner Makenna painted our toe nails.  It was so much fun.

Here are some pics of what we did

Makenna, Jasmin and I.  So excited to watch the show

Makenna painted both our toe's and she did such a great job!

Well our girls weekend was a blast and it was sad that it had to come to an end. Hopefully we can do it again next year!

Thanksgiving Point Gardens

Last week we went to the Gardens at Thanksgiving Point when Weston got home from work.  The kids had lots of fun exploring the children's gardens and rolling down the big hill by the big waterfall.  I enjoyed a night out with Weston.  Here's some pics!

Playing in the water!

Climbing on things in one of the learning gardens

Playing the drums in another one

 And the best part was...
 Rolling down the big hill!!!

Poor little girl!  Does she ever get out of that stroller?

Dinosaur Museum

I love how Thanksgiving Point does $2 Tuesdays every August so two weeks ago I took the kids to the Dinosaur Museum.  Kason has been asking to go forever so I thought he would enjoy it.  And although it was crazy busy and packed with tons of kids you just can't beat the price.  It is so expensive to pay full price so to go for $2 was definitely worth it.  Here are some pics of the kids having so much fun!

Out front waiting to get in.  The line really wasn't that bad at noon!

Seeing the dinosaurs!

Brynn hanging out in the stroller

They just loved this shark for some reason!

Just digging for dinosaur bones!  Probably the best part of the day!

Foam Days!

Lehi had their annual Foam Days just before the 24th of July and we just could not miss it.  I think Makenna talked about it all year long!  She was so excited to go and we were so excited that Grandpa Southwick came and played with the kids.  He announced the countdown to jump in and then he came and jumped right in with the kids and got covered!  It was fun to watch and the kids really enjoyed it.

Foam!!!

Grandpa, Kason and Makenna

We remembered goggles this year!  Although they don't help much when they are on top of the head!

Kason wasn't very sure of the foam but he still had lots of fun.

Grandpa got sprayed with the foam!

After the foam they went over to the firetrucks and they had a big hose sprinkling water down like a shower so you could clean off.  Kason screamed and we all laughed!

So much fun at foam days.  We can't wait tell next year!

Battlecreek Falls

Our last activity for the weekend was on Monday.  We woke up on Monday morning and went for a hike up Battlecreek Falls in Pleasant Grove.  The kids did really well and we all had so much fun.  It was a nice hike and not too hard.  We figured it took us about 30-45 minutes to get up there.  It actually took us longer to get down because the kids kept stopping to play!
Makenna waiting at the gate.  She was excited for the hike
Kason had the best ride!  He loved just going for a ride
Up to the waterfall

Stopping for a snack and some water
We even got my sister Shellie up early on her day off to come with us
Makenna is such a model.  She was even doing her model walk on the way down the mountain
Kason finally got free and was able to play in the rocks!

Foam Days

Saturday was Foam Days in Lehi.  It started in the morning with a bunch of festivities but we were at a family reunion so we made it just in time for the foam.  It was so much fun!  I have been wanting to go the past few years but we are always at the cabin, so I was so excited to go this year.  The fireman squirt this foam from their fire hoses and it just sets on top of the ground.  The kids were pretty nervous at first so I kept telling them it was just like bubbles in our bathtub.  But eventually they warmed up and even had some fun.

Kason is actually crying in this picture!
Kason had a hard time warming up to it.  He hadn't had his nap yet.

"Foam" Boots
There were a lot of people here

Kason preferred to sit in the stroller.  He kept asking to put his shoes back on.  What kid asks for shoes on?
Makennas trying to throw it at me
She even got brave enough to sit down in it!
Westons going to go throw her in!
Kason did finally get in
I just had to get a picture of this!  She was all dressed to celebrate the 24th!

Splash Pad

Last weekend was so busy!!!  And most of that was my fault!  But we have been sitting around to house for way too much of our summer so I was determined to do some fun things while Weston had a few days off work.  So Friday we took the kids up to the Highland Splash Pad.  They both really enjoyed it.  Although I think their favorite part was the ice cream cone afterwards!
